It was unusual for New Mexico to be as cold as it was that day and we weren't expecting it to be that cold (we even found a little patch of snow!) But Brett and Sami were troopers and smiled through it all, even though we were freezing.

Brett + Sami // Engagement Session
Engagement photo sessions are so much fun! I love being able to document the few moments of an engaged couple. Every photographer hopes for their clients to be happy on the day of the photo session, and most of the time engaged couples are the most visibly happy and excited people to shoot.

Brett and Jennie // Family and Maternity Session
I love taking pictures of families, and it's even more fun when they are of my own family! My sister-in-law is having a baby soon, and although they will need some updated family photos once the babe arrives, I still wanted to capture some moments of this little family of three before it becomes a family of four.
This was also a good opportunity to get some maternity shots in as well. Two birds with one stone.
It's so fun to work with families who just have contagious positive energy about them.

Father Son Photo Session
One of the best pieces of advice that my father-in-law gave to my husband is "happy wife, happy life." I know he isn't the one who coined that phrase, but it sure has been helpful in certain situations!
Luckily, Evan is a pretty good sport anyway and agreed to be a model for me. Hey, if I can't be in photos of my baby, I'd like to at least get some good quality ones of the rest of my family! The leaves were just barely starting to change color in the Alpine Loop in Utah County and it was perfect to get some photos before it started getting too cold out.
I think there are too few father/baby photo sessions out there. It should definitely be the next new thing. There is nothing more precious (in my opinion) than a proud daddy!
